1.Purpose

      Is it mostly for exercise? Family fun? serve customer? Your answers to these questions will help determine the size, shape and style of your pool of choice.

      2. Location

      Do you want it to be the focal point of your backyard, or tucked away in a secluded corner? Is it easily accessible from the house, or do you need to install a walkway or deck to get to it? These factors will affect the design, construction and maintenance of your swimming pool.

      3. Size

      If you plan to use the pool for exercise, a smaller plunge pool may be sufficient. On the other hand, if you plan to have frequent pool parties or have a large family, you may need a larger pool.

      4. Shape

      Rectangular pools are great for laps, while kidney and free-form pools look more natural. Round pools are perfect for small spaces and can be a wonderful addition to your garden.

      5. Material

      Fiberglass pools are low maintenance and have a smooth finish, but are limited in size and shape. Concrete pools can be customized and are durable, but require more maintenance. Vinyl lined pools are affordable and flexible in shape, but may need to be replaced every 10 years or so.
